Living in Ontario as an International Student

Home | Living in Ontario

Ontario is Canada’s largest province in land area and in population size; it is beautiful in its landscape and diverse in its people. Because Ontario is Canada’s largest province, there are more opportunities, amenities and services.

Ontario has much to offer an international student. Whether one lives in a big city, a small town or in a rural community, Ontario is friendly, safe and welcoming. Ontario is a place where the air and water are clean. Communities are well established and there are a wide range of local facilities and support services available, from excellent health care to community recreational centres to developed communication networks. The natural environment is never far away with opportunities to get out and explore nature and be physically active during whichever of Ontario’s four distinct seasons. And living with a Homestay family is a bonus as it enables an international student to become part of a Canadian family.

This section of the OASDI website provides information Homestay, types of Ontario communities, aspects of Canadian culture, and ways of getting around and exploring the province of Ontario.
