plus importants facteurs de la r\u00e9ussite d\u2019un \u00e9tudiant \u00e9tranger.\u00a0 De telles comp\u00e9tences langagi\u00e8res ne sont pas uniquement n\u00e9cessaires pour la r\u00e9ussite acad\u00e9mique, mais elles rev\u00eatent une grande importance pour l\u2019adaptation et l\u2019int\u00e9gration sociale. L\u2019apprentissage d\u2019une nouvelle langue se fait \u00e0 un rythme diff\u00e9rent selon les \u00e9tudiants et la ma\u00eetrise orale de la nouvelle langue survient g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement avant la lecture et l\u2019\u00e9criture.<\/p>\n<p>Les apprenants de la langue anglaise (ALA) sont des \u00e9tudiants qui\u00a0<em>apprennent la langue de l\u2019enseignement en m\u00eame temps que le curriculum<\/em>\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.edu.gov.on.ca\/eng\/curriculum\/secondary\/esl.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.edu.gov.on.ca\/fre\/curriculum\/secondary\/index.html<\/a>, p. 3), [traduction libre \u2013 The French on this Web site does not correspond to the English.]<\/p>\n<p>Pratiquement tous les \u00e9tudiants \u00e9trangers qui viennent en Ontario sont des \u00e9tudiants qui apprendront l\u2019anglais comme langue seconde (ALS), soit \u00ab\u00a0<em>des \u00e9tudiants dont la langue maternelle n\u2019est pas l\u2019anglais ou un type d\u2019anglais substantiellement diff\u00e9rent de celui qui est utilis\u00e9 pour l\u2019enseignement dans les \u00e9coles de l\u2019Ontario. Cette \u00e9valuation s\u2019effectue habituellement par le biais d\u2019un outil d\u2019\u00e9valuation en ligne et fournit une indication du placement appropri\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9tudiant dans un programme ALS dans une \u00e9cole de l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>Peu de temps apr\u00e8s son arriv\u00e9e en Ontario, l\u2019\u00e9tudiant participe \u00e0 une \u00e9valuation par l\u2019entremise de son conseil scolaire local. Cette \u00e9valuation peut comporter diverses composantes, mais elle met g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement l\u2019accent sur l\u2019aptitude linguistique en lecture, \u00e9criture et langage parl\u00e9 (et renferme souvent une composante portant sur les aptitudes math\u00e9matiques).\u00a0 Ce processus inclut habituellement une entrevue.\u00a0 En se fondant sur les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9valuation \u00ab en personne \u00bb, l\u2019\u00e9tudiant sera plac\u00e9 dans un programme ALS appropri\u00e9 dans une \u00e9cole locale qui offre ce type de programme.\u00a0 Veuillez noter que certains conseils scolaires offrent aux \u00e9tudiants l\u2019occasion de participer \u00e0 des programmes sp\u00e9ciaux et intensifs en anglais avant le d\u00e9but de l\u2019ann\u00e9e scolaire afin de les aider \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer leurs capacit\u00e9s langagi\u00e8res avant leur entr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole en septembre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-20778-2-1-6\" d\u2019apprentissage en anglais<\/h3>\n<p>Le tableau suivant donne un aper\u00e7u des cheminements que font la plupart des \u00e9tudiants de l\u2019ALS avant de s\u2019inscrire aux cours d\u2019anglais principaux.\u00a0 Les \u00e9tudiants de l\u2019ALS suivront des variations de cette s\u00e9quence en fonction de leurs progr\u00e8s
